Hamas negotiating delegation member Ghazi Hamad confirmed on Friday that the agreement concerning the Gaza Strip is "comprehensive" and that the issue of weapons is not separate from the rest of the agreement's provisions.
"Tough negotiations"
Hamad told Al-Ghad in an exclusive statement that the weapons storage process will be under the supervision of the National Committee, stressing that “Israel will not be allowed to interfere in this matter.”
He added that reaching the agreement "was not easy," noting that the negotiations were arduous and difficult.
He explained that there are “many issues and commitments that Israel must adhere to” within the agreement, noting that Hamas has asked the mediators to form a verification committee to ensure that all parties are committed to implementing the Gaza agreement
Hamas leader Dr. Ghazi Hamad confirmed that the movement’s approval of the comprehensive peace agreement came after consultations with various Palestinian factions, with the aim of ending the war and saving Palestinians from the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip. He stressed that the movement made political concessions in order to achieve this goal, but it will not abandon its political project.
