I don’t know if anyone has noticed, but in the 20M, 40M, 60M, and 80M markets you can see large buy walls for YES. However, this doesn’t exist in the 30M, 50M, 70M, and 90M markets. The reason is that those markets were opened later. I think that when the market first launched, bots were deployed to create large buy walls in order to systematically push YES prices higher. The goal was to make people believe that the price was being manipulated upward, encouraging them to buy YES as well. Since the 30M, 50M, 70M, etc. markets were opened later, these bots can’t create the same buy walls there. To me, this is a clear example of reverse manipulation: First, make people think manipulation is happening. Then, push the price up with large buy walls. Get people to buy YES at high prices. And then boom sell all the YES and quickly accumulate NO. No real capital is needed on the sell side. With much less money than what would normally be required for manipulation, the goal was to directly control the order book in the Ranger sale by creating artificial buy walls.
