Once United get CL football, which is very likely, it'll become hard for the board not to appoint Carrick imo. If it aint broke dont fix it. He has good relationship and long history in Manchester and has got some good wins over Arsenal, City so far. Not to mention where the club were when he took over. Can't see him getting displaced personally. He has strong grip on things, good networks and power. Decades of experience dealing with security and conflicts. Even if it ends up hung, the President will most likely choose him to establish a functioning government because of his history. War strengthens his position as well, as a change in leadership could undermine Israel and during times of war countries usually keep seasoned leaders in charge. Just my prediction btw I do not support Israel.

Bad results in May won't challenge a leadership change. Would need to be historic and catastrophic. Recent PMs (Gordon Brown, Rishi Sunak) all took heavy local election damage and stayed on.
